TCR DSG Europe: 2021

Multiple endurance touring car championships have utilised the TCR regulations debuted by the TCR International Series in 2015, including TCR DSG Europe. These regulations provide a relatively accessible means of racing full-on customer tin-tops, with models available from a wide range of manufacturers.

Launched for the 2021 season, TCR DSG Europe effectively continued where TCR DSG Italy Endurance left off. Despite the name change, the series was still primarily focused around Italian circuits and mostly attracted Italian teams and drivers.

All five of the rounds held attracted between seven and nine teams, which while far from the smallest field seen by a TCR series clearly wasn’t sufficient to sustain an endurance racing series long-term. Given the drop-off TCR DSG Italy Endurance had experienced in its second year, and the continued limited interest in this new series, it wasn’t overly surprising to see TCR DSG Europe shelved after just one season.
